Some citizens watched YouTube videos containing incorrect information, They are looking for drugs such as’hydroxy chloroquine’ (hereinafter referred to as chloroquine) and dexamethasone.Wrote an article and received a complaint mail. In the mail, there was also a message saying, “Chloroquine has the effect of curing Corona 19, but the reporter wrote it without knowing it, so we request a correction report.” A translation article with an unclear source and a YouTube link that claims that “Chloroquin can conquer Corona 19” were attached to the email. However, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety released a press release on the 5th, saying, “Chloroquine has not been proven effective in preventing and treating Corona 19.” The government has not officially recognized the effects of chloroquine. However, some citizens still believe that chloroquine works. In the morning of that day, media reports that the repellent’Ivermectin’ is effective in treating Corona 19, and the portal site searched for’How to buy ivermectin’ and’Ivermectin related stocks’. Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) Commissioner Jeong Eun-kyung said in April last year that the safety and effectiveness of ivermectin has not been proven. It is very dangerous to administer drugs at will without prescription from a medical practitioner. Chloroquine is cardiotoxic, and experts say that the anthelmintic ivermectin can strain the liver. The message that chloroquine has the effect of preventing and treating Corona 19 spread after the Gwanghwamun rally on August 15 last year. Among the attendees, those who do not believe in the quarantine authorities shared a message and went to find Chloroquine as a self-help. If you suspect COVID-19 infection, you should not go to a pharmacy, but find a screening clinic nearby. Some of the comments on the article appealed to the urgency. “The patient dies waiting at home. Shouldn’t we prepare anything?” I agree with the appeal. It is also a situation in which 10 patients were infected with Corona 19 but could not go to the hospital and died while waiting at home. However, relying on misinformation has more dangerous consequences. The government should also further enhance trust in quarantine measures. The situation of not trusting the authorities and searching for malaria drugs and repellents should not be a cross-section of the’K’ quarantine.
