First of all, please tell us the status of new confirmed cases.

As of 0 o’clock today, there are 715 new cases.

It decreased from 1,020 the previous day to over 300 in one day.

Looking at the route of infection, domestic outbreaks are 672 people and foreign inflows are 43 people.

The number of domestic outbreaks by region was 193 in Seoul, 214 in Gyeonggi, and 48 in Incheon, 455 in the metropolitan area alone.

In the non-capital area, there were 32 in Chungbuk, 31 in Daegu, 27 in Gangwon, and 24 in Gyeongbuk.

Of the 43 foreign inflows, 16 were confirmed during the quarantine stage.

The death toll increased by 26 more to 1,007 cumulative deaths.

The number of patients with severe gastric disorders was added to 35 to 386.

The quarantine authorities assessed that for the first time since the third epidemic, the number of new cases decreased.

In addition, last week, the infection reproductive index was found to be less than 1, and he predicted that the number of confirmed cases could decrease further in the future.

Another British mutant virus patient came out?

On the 13th and 20th of last month, two confirmed patients who entered the country from the UK were confirmed to be infected with the mutant virus.

So far, 12 patients have been infected with the mutant virus in Korea.

11 from the UK and 1 from South Africa.

The Central Defense Countermeasures Headquarters said that the two additional confirmed persons were confirmed during self-isolation after entering the country, and that a mutant virus was detected in a later specimen examination.

In particular, the 11th mutant virus infected person boarded the same plane with the Goyang family.

Bang Dae-bon said the possibility of in-flight transmission of the British mutant virus cannot be ruled out, but it is unlikely.

It also explained that there is no possibility of further spreading to the community as it was discovered during self-isolation or quarantine.
