An Italian doctor was diagnosed with Corona 19 six days after inoculating a novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19) vaccine jointly developed by US pharmaceutical company Pfizer and German Bioentech.
According to local media Il Mesazero and others on the 3rd (local time), Antonella Franco, a doctor working at the Umberto I hospital in Syracuse, Sicily, first vaccinated the Pfizer vaccine in Palermo, the capital of Sicily, on the 28th of last month. Tested positive for Corona 19 on the day
The health authorities explained that a detailed epidemiological investigation is underway to determine the exact timing of the virus infection, and that even if an infection has occurred after vaccination, the vaccine efficacy is not in question.
Franco Rocatelli, a former doctor who heads the government’s Higher Health Advisory Committee, said, “It is not unexpected that the immune system is complete only when the vaccine is given twice.” He added, “In clinical trials, cases of infection after one vaccination were reported,” he added.
Pfizer vaccine should be administered in two doses every three weeks. Pfizer has said that only 95% of the prevention can be achieved by following this approach.
The doctor also said he would not give up vaccination. He said he would be vaccinated again in the press and “remember that the vaccine is the only chance to win the battle against the virus.”
Meanwhile, the number of new corona 19 confirmed cases in Italy as of the 3rd was 14,245. The cumulative confirmed cases were 2,05446 and the number of deaths was 75,332.
