Deputy Prime Minister Hong Nam-ki and Minister of Strategy and Finance emphasized that he will focus on stabilizing the real estate market from the beginning of the new year. While the government has mobilized various measures such as raising the tax rate and enforcing the Housing Lease Protection Act, the market is drawing attention to the government’s additional response card related to real estate.

Deputy Prime Minister Hong said at the opening ceremony of the Ministry of Equipment, which was held at the Government Complex Sejong on the 4th, “We will put all our policy capabilities in relation to the real estate market from the beginning of the year to ensure that the market is stabilized.” Since August of last year, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the Financial Services Commission, and the National Tax Service, etc. participated in the’Real Estate Market Inspection Ministers’ Meeting’ to announce measures such as the establishment of the Real Estate Transaction Analysis Institute. Deputy Prime Minister Hong said at the real estate ministers’ meeting held on December 22 last year, “We will supply a total of 460,000 houses and a total of 319,000 households based on apartments next year,” and are raising their arms to stabilize the real estate market.

Deputy Prime Minister Hong diagnosed at the opening ceremony that this year, the Korean economy will be “the inflection point of desperate despair, which is at the crossroads of overcoming the crisis and becoming a leading economy.” He said, “2021 is a critical period when it is necessary to take preemptive preparation for structural changes in the post-corona era, the Korean version of the New Deal, and the implementation of a carbon-neutral strategy. “We need to prepare policies more closely to become a solid support for inclusiveness.”
