Temporary screening offices in the metropolitan area will be extended in the future, right?
[기자]
Even today, the first Monday of the new year, the inspection office was opened.
The temporary screening office in the metropolitan area, which was originally until yesterday, was operated for two more weeks as the social distancing was extended.
Even if there is no history of symptoms and contact with a confirmed person, anyone can get the test for free until the 17th.
Until now, 188 such inspection stations have been installed in 153 places in the metropolitan area and 35 places in the non-metropolitan area.
The quarantine authorities assessed that in the last three weeks, when the metropolitan area inspection center was operating, up to 2,000 confirmed cases were detected in advance.
There were 680,000 cases of nasopharyngeal smear PCR using a sample collected from the nose, accounting for 97% of anonymous tests.
There were about 4,000’saliva sample PCR’ tests using acupuncture points, and about 12,000’rapid antigen tests’ that resulted in results in as little as 30 minutes.
During the extended period, the saliva PCR test with low preference is excluded from the test method.
In consideration of cold weather and fatigue of field workers, the operating hours of the inspection office will also be reduced from 9 am to 5 pm on weekdays and from 9 am to 1 pm on weekends.
The number of inspection stations will also be adjusted for each local government according to the inspection performance and site conditions.
We plan to reduce the number of inspection offices in the metropolitan area from 153 to 144 and dispatch additional doctors and nurses.

In the midst of this, a new group infection appeared in a nursing hospital in the metropolitan area, right?
[기자]
Infections are appearing in facilities with many elderly people who are susceptible to infection.
At a nursing hospital in Gyeyang-gu, Incheon, a group infection was found in which 43 people were confirmed.
Seven people, including nursing care caregivers and nursing assistants, were confirmed and carried out a full examination, and 36 more were infected within a day.
Incheon city plans to quarantine hospitals in the same group and move confirmed patients to nearby hospitals in turn.
Six more people were confirmed at the nursing hospital in Guro-gu, Seoul, where the outbreak has already occurred.
With 4 patients, 4 residents, and 1 worker, the cumulative confirmed number was 206.
Eleven people were also added at the Welfare Facility for the Disabled in Songpa-gu, Seoul, and the cumulative number of confirmed patients has increased to 71 so far.
Meanwhile, on December 26 last year, the number of infections in the Icheon distribution center, where the first confirmed person was confirmed, has increased to 97.
Thirteen additional people were confirmed, and 81 employees and 16 family members and acquaintances were infected.
As infections continued in vulnerable facilities like this, the government expanded all-inclusive tests to receive diagnostic tests once a week for workers in nursing and psychiatric hospitals nationwide.
