The 2.5 steps for social distancing in the metropolitan area and the 2 steps for non-metropolitan areas will be extended for another two weeks until the 17th.
The government confirmed this at a meeting of the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters, presided over by Prime Minister Jeong Sye-gyun.
At this meeting, the ban on private gatherings of 5 or more people, which was applied only to the metropolitan area, was expanded nationwide.
As a result, gatherings of 5 or more people are prohibited in all areas of the country, and reservations for accommodation facilities such as hotels are limited to two-thirds of the number of rooms, and the number of rooms cannot be exceeded.
However, if a family with the same living space gathers or needs care, such as a child or a disabled person, it is excluded from this regulation.

It is also notable that some of the restrictions have been relaxed or strengthened this time.
The academy allowed the door to be opened if the number of teachers is less than 9 at the same time, and in the case of ski resorts, snow sledding and ice rinks, the number of students is limited to one-third, and the door is closed after 9pm. .
However, the operation of a closed outdoor screen golf course has been banned, which has been criticized for having a meeting while sharing food.
Convenience facilities and community center classes in non-metropolitan apartment complexes will also be closed.
The government emphasized that the quarantine and medical response capabilities are being maintained, and that it has decided to minimize private gatherings without raising it to the third stage in consideration of the impact of the common people’s economy.
