Yes, as of 0 o’clock today, there were 657 new cases.

It decreased from 824 the previous day to nearly 200 in one day.

It has been 23 days since the 11th of last month, when 689 people came down to 600.

Looking at the route of infection, there were 641 domestic outbreaks and 16 foreign inflows.

There are still many infected people in the metropolitan area.

There were 195 in Seoul, 201 in Gyeonggi, and 48 in Incheon, a total of 444.

In the non-capital area, new patients came from all 17 provinces nationwide, including 33 in Gangwon, 26 in Gwangju and Chungbuk, 21 in Daegu, and 19 in Busan.

Eight out of 16 confirmed overseas inflows were confirmed at the airport or port quarantine stage.

With an additional 20 deaths, the cumulative death toll was 962, and the number of seriously ill patients decreased by 6 to 355.

Prime Minister Chung Sye-gyun said in a statement before the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters meeting a while ago that it was an encouraging figure.

He explained that the average number of confirmed cases per day has decreased by more than a hundred over the past week, and weekend travel is also at the lowest level in the last two months.

However, as the uncertainty is high, he stressed that the two weeks of applying new quarantine measures, including the nationwide expansion of the ban on private gatherings for more than 5 people, are the decisive period.

In fact, the number of diagnostic tests during the New Year’s holiday period was much lower than usual, so it is an evaluation that it is too early to say that the spreading trend has declined.

Yesterday, the number of tests was 38,000, which was higher than the 33,000 yesterday, but the number of confirmed cases was small.

However, there are nearly 20,000 fewer than 55,000 on the 31st of last month, which is a weekday.

So-called’hidden infected people’ are also being identified one after another.

89 people were confirmed by an anonymous test at the temporary screening test center in the metropolitan area, which lowered the test threshold in order to find people with no symptoms or mild symptoms.

Since the 14th of last month when the temporary inspection center was established, 2,37 people were confirmed through preemptive inspection.
