10 times that of last year’s emergency
Request for re-ordering of emergencies in 4 places including Tokyo
Whatever decision you make, the regime is inevitable
In Japan, the number of new coronavirus infections (Corona 19) has surpassed 3,000 for five consecutive days. This is the first time that the number of confirmed cases exceeded 3,000 for the 5th consecutive day, and the Japanese government decided to consider a plan to re-declare an emergency to prevent the spread.
According to NHK on the 3rd, 3,059 new corona19 confirmed cases occurred in Japan the previous day, and more than 3,000 confirmed cases were released on the 5th day since December 29 last year. In particular, it is known that half of the confirmed cases were concentrated in the metropolitan area, centered on Tokyo.
As a result, the four metropolitan governments in the metropolitan area, where the spreading trend was strong, requested the Japanese government to review the re-employment of the emergency. Tokyo Governor Koike Yuriko and Governor of Kanagawa, Chiba, and Saitama said at a press conference held on the 2nd after meeting with Japanese economic regeneration manager Yastoshi Nishimura, “It was necessary to reduce people’s movements, so we requested an emergency re-order.” .

Responding to the request for a review of the re-arrangement, Mr. Nishimura replied, “We shared the recognition that it is difficult enough to require an emergency declaration,” and “we will consider whether or not to re-issue”.
In this regard, Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga plans to explain the plan to cope with Corona 19 at a press conference on the 4th, Nihon Geizai Shimbun reported. Even though Prime Minister Suga’s number of new confirmed cases has increased more than 10 times compared to the time of the emergency declaration in April last year, it is not known whether the emergency will be declared again as the negative position has been revealed several times due to economic shock.
However, whatever decision it makes, it is expected that the Suga cabinet will be hit. If the situation worsens after rejecting the emergency request, the possibility of the collapse of the Suga regime, whose approval ratings plummeted due to inadequate response to Corona 19, cannot be excluded.
If an emergency is declared, economic damage is inevitable, and if prolonged, it may affect the holding of the Tokyo Olympics, and analysts say that a setback in the plan to rebound the approval rating through stimulus is inevitable.
