As soon as the new year of 2021 dawns, the cumulative number of corona19 confirmed cases in the United States exceeded 20 million.
It has been about one year since the first infection on January 20 last year.
About 6% of the total U.S. population is infected with 1 in 17 Americans.
23.9% of confirmed cases worldwide and 19% of deaths came from the United States.
Even so, the spread still shows no signs of diminishing, and the vaccination rate is slow.
US health officials are rushing vaccination with the goal of building population immunity by fall.
