The cumulative number of confirmed cases of existing group outbreaks, including the Eastern Detention Center in Seoul, is also increasing day by day.
◇ New group infections one after another… Cumulative confirmed cases in Eastern detention center increased to 945
According to the Central Defense Countermeasure Headquarters (Bang Dae-bon) on the 1st, group infections related to workplaces and religious facilities were newly confirmed in the metropolitan area.
First of all, after the first patient (indicator patient) occurred on the 22nd of last month in relation to a food company in Paju, Gyeonggi Province, an additional 10 people were tested positive. Of the 11 cumulative patients, 8 employees including indicator patients and 3 retirees.
In relation to a real estate company in Gimpo, Gyeonggi Province, a total of 12 people were infected after the first patient came out on the 27th of last month. Among them, 3 employees including indicator patients, 4 employees’ family members, 2 guests and family members, and 3 other classification cases.
Also, in the case of a church located in Namdong-gu, Incheon, there have been 18 confirmed cases so far. Among them, 14 members including index patients, 3 family members, and 1 other classification case.
Among the existing large-scale group infection cases, 131 additional inmates were confirmed during the follow-up examination of the quarantine in the Eastern Detention Center in Seoul, and a total of 945 people were positive as of 0 o’clock that day.
In relation to a plant in Gunpo-si, Gyeonggi-do, 38 people were added, and the cumulative number of confirmed cases increased to 67.
With regard to the case of nursing facility #2, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul, the number of confirmed cases increased to 16, with two more, and five more related to the Jungnang-gu church, showing a total of 61 infected so far.
In connection with the hospital in Paju, Gyeonggi Province, 12 additional infections were confirmed, resulting in 66 cases.
◇ Infection spread across the country, including Chungnam, Gwangju, Daegu, and Busan
New group infections have also been confirmed in Chungnam, Gwangju, Daegu, and Busan.
First, a total of 12 patients were confirmed after the first patient came out on the 23rd of last month related to an auto parts company in Cheonan, Chungcheongnam-do.
In relation to the Gwangju Sports Club, 22 people have been confirmed so far, and in the case of a nursing home in Buk-gu, Gwangju, 7 people have been added, and the cumulative number of confirmed patients is 66.
Regarding medical institutions in Dalseo-gu, Daegu, a total of 21 people have been infected since the 27th of last month. Among them, 13 users of medical institutions including indicator patients, 2 workers, 2 family members of confirmed patients, 3 other cases, and 1 case being investigated.
In relation to the Ulsan Jung-gu missions organization, where group infection was confirmed, an additional 34 people were tested positive during the contact investigation process, and the cumulative number of confirmed cases increased to 83.
In Busan, confirmed cases were poured out from several facilities.
First of all, a total of 15 people have been infected since the 28th of last month related to the Buk-gu nursing hospital. Of these, 5 were hospital workers, 8 patients and 2 family members.
In addition, in relation to the Bluebird Senior Health Center in Yeongdo-gu, 41 people were added during the contact process, resulting in a total of 47 infected people.
In addition, the cumulative number of confirmed cases of the Buk-gu Day Welfare Center increased to 13, and in relation to the case of the 2nd case of the Dong-gu nursing hospital, 20 were added, resulting in 54 cases.
On the other hand, the proportion of’unknown infection route’ patients who do not know when and where they were infected dropped slightly to 26%.
Among the 14,253 new confirmed cases that occurred from the 19th of last month to this day, 3,794 are investigating the infection route, accounting for 26.6% of the total. Compared to the previous day (27.5%), it was down 0.9 percentage points.
