Today, the 5th total inspection is underway at the Eastern Detention Center in Seoul, where the number of confirmed cases has increased to the mid-900s.

It is conducted for 1,128 employees and detainees who were negatively judged during the 4th total inspection three days ago.

Prime Minister Jeong Sye-gyun, Justice Minister Chu Mi-ae, and Vice Minister Lee Yong-gu also conducted on-site quarantine inspections.

When the results of today’s tests come out, there are also voices of concern that the size of the confirmed cases, currently in the mid-900s, exceeds four digits.

Since the last 2nd and 3rd tests showed 200 people at a time, and the 4th test showed more than 120 infected people, the results of this test are drawing attention.

Meanwhile, the number of confirmed cases in correctional facilities nationwide is 982, which is close to 1,000, and two cases of deaths among prisoners appear severe.

In addition to the eastern detention center, there is a group infection in the metropolitan area.

Group infection continues to occur in daily living spaces such as nursing homes and hospitals.

First of all, with regard to the nursing hospital in Guro-gu, Seoul, three additional patients, three residents, and four workers were positive, and the cumulative number of confirmed cases was 200.

In addition, at the elderly welfare facility in Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul, four additional people, including residents and visitors to the facility, were tested positive.

In a nursing home in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do, nine additional people, including residents and their families, were infected after a worker was confirmed on the 28th of last month, four days ago.

At the Pyeongtaek City Elderly Care Center, 12 additional people were confirmed, and the cumulative number was 13.

In addition, on the 28th of last month, a leather factory in Gunpo-si, Gyeonggi Province, where the first confirmed person was confirmed, conducted a full inspection on employees and retirees, increasing the size of the diagnosis to 75.

In addition, there were 10 and 27 cumulative infections, respectively, at religious facilities in Suwon-si and Namdong-gu, Incheon.

The quarantine authorities assessed the current situation as a state of stagnation with neither a sharp increase nor a marked decline.
