I made an urgent recruitment announcement, but there are few applicants

As group infection spreads in nursing and disabled facilities vulnerable to the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19), it took an emergency to secure carers.
According to the Seoul Metropolitan Government on the 31st, on the 28th, the Seoul Social Services Service announced the recruitment of the’Corona 19 Emergency Care Workers’, which regularly recruits nursing care workers under the age of 60 and holders of the disabled activity supporter license.
Recently, as the number of confirmed patients poured out from vulnerable facilities such as Guro-gu Misodeul Medical Center (192 people cumulative), Songpa-gu Living Facilities for the disabled (65 people cumulative), Dongdaemun-gu welfare facilities for the elderly (32 people), and Yangcheon-gu Nursing Facility II (14 people), caring workers Demand soared.
As there are many confirmed patients and residents with limited mobility in the facility, it is essential to secure not only medical staff, but also nursing personnel, but due to the rapid increase in confirmed cases, it is difficult to take care of patients only with existing personnel.
In addition, when unconfirmed patients in the facility are classified and transferred to quarantine facilities or other hospitals, additional care workers are required in consideration of shift work. If not supported by caring personnel, quarantine and transfer will be delayed, and the number of confirmed cases will increase or response becomes more difficult.
The service staff plans to increase the staffing pool, which is currently 60 people, to 200 by adding 140 people. Treatment is KRW 21,046 per working hour (1.5 times bonus paid on weekends and holidays), separate risk allowance when dispatched to the same group quarantine facility and treatment hospital for confirmed patients, and support for living wages and accommodation in Seoul during the self-isolation period after leaving the facility. The service staff said that it was okay.
However, the number of applicants is currently only about 10, so it is not easy to recruit. This is because close contact is inevitable in the process of dealing with patients and residents, making it difficult to completely rule out’the risk of infection’.
A service official said, “Even patients who have been diagnosed with negative and self-isolation are likely to be confirmed in the future, so there is no reluctance.” “Wear protective clothing and provide care services under strict preventive rules.”
The Seoul Metropolitan Government called for participation, citing the shortage of manpower. Seoul quarantine control officer Park Yoo-mi also said at a regular briefing on the day, “Guro-gu public health center has issued a public announcement for recruiting caregivers separately from the city of Seoul, and is recruiting applicants, but many people are not submitting applications,” he said. “We ask for a large number of related workers to come.” .
