It was investigated that the circumstances of the late Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon’s sexual harassment accusation were passed on to former Mayor Park aide through the Korean Women’s Association Association and the Democratic Party lawmaker Nam In-soon. In addition, the day before the disappearance, Mayor Park revealed that “there is a text message with the victim before April, but it could be a problem.”
On the 30th, the Seoul Northern District Prosecutor’s Office announced the results of the investigation of the leak of the former Mayor Park’s accusation, and said, “Citizens’ members of the citizens’ group asked for support to civic groups before submitting a complaint against Mayor Park to the National Assembly member and the Seoul Gender News. I told you the facts you requested. In summary, on July 7th, the day before the former secretary’s filing of a sexual harassment complaint against Mayor Park, Jae-ryun Kim, attorney of the Law Firm, asked for help from the head of the Korean Sexual Violence Counseling Center on July 7th. The problem began when Director Lee conveyed this to the Korean Women’s Association. It was investigated that Kim Young-soon, co-president of the Korean Women’s Association, called Congressman Nam on July 8, the following day, upon learning of the same. Rep. Nam served as the standing representative of the Korean Women’s Association.
Rep. Nam also delivered this news to former Seoul City Gender News Agency Soon-Young Lim. Rep. Nam asked the former special assistant Lim, “It seems that there are unpleasant talks about Mayor Park Won-soon, but what is happening?” Lim’s former special assistant was from the South Assemblyman’s office. It was investigated that the former special reporter heard the intention that “women’s organizations contact lawyer Kim” while talking to co-chairman Kim.
It was investigated that the special reporter Lim, who detected the victim’s activities, first reported the relevant facts on his own with Mayor Park at 3 pm on July 8. When a former special reporter Lim asked, “I think there is an unpleasant or bad talk about the mayor, do you know anything?” Park said, “There is no such thing.”
However, Park’s response to the market changed in less than a day. According to the prosecution, Mayor Park said at the mayor’s mission at 11 p.m. on the same day, with the intention that “there is a text message with the victim before April, but it could be a problem.” Mayor Park said to the former secretary’s chief Ko Han-seok at 9 am on July 9, the following day, “It seems like the victim is trying to do something with the women’s organization. If it is revealed, he will throw the mayor’s job and deal with it.” . Mayor Park left the mission with a memo saying’I’m sorry to everyone’ this morning, and was found dead the next morning. It was investigated that the former Mayor Park left a message that seemed to recognize the significance of the case before disappearing. In the telegram of former mayor Park’s mobile phone forensic results, there was a message saying, “I don’t think I can pass this wave anyway.”
The prosecution determined that it was difficult to prosecute the leak of the accusation through private relations. An official at the prosecution said, “The leakage of public service secrets is applied when the secrets acquired on the job are disclosed, but this case is not applicable because it is transmitted through a personal relationship.” I can’t,” he explained. The prosecution also unprodicted the police, Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office, and Blue House officials who were accused of leaking the facts of the lawsuit against Mayor Park. The victim’s’Joint Action in the Mayor of Seoul’s Violent Sexual Violence Case’ issued a statement on the day and said, “Mayor Park knew that the act could be sexual violence and that it was the job to throw the mayor.” In addition, he drew a line saying, “(At first) the need for joint support with the Korean Women’s Organizations Association was investigated, but after receiving a special notification in advance (reporting the possibility of leakage), we immediately ruled it out.”
Meanwhile, Maeil Economic Daily tried to contact Rep. Nam and Co-CEO Kim several times to inquire about related matters, but the contact could not be reached.
