New cars from Hyundai Motor, Kia Motors, and Genesis brands have swept the awards at the prestigious American design award, the ‘2020 Good Design Award’.
The Hyundai Motor Group announced on the 30th that a total of 9 products, including 4 Hyundai Motors, 2 Kia Motors, and 3 Genesis Motors, were selected as winners in the transportation design category at the 2020 Good Design Awards. The Good Design Award is an awards ceremony organized by the Athenaeum Architecture and Design Museum in Chicago, USA. Products with excellent design in electronics, transportation, and furniture are selected and announced every year.

High charger
Hyundai Motor Company was awarded with the’Concept Car 45′ and’Propeci’ for electric vehicles, the’High Charger’, an ultra-high-speed charging facility for electric vehicles, and ‘7th generation Avante’. The concept car 45, which first appeared at the Frankfurt Motor Show in Germany last year, is inspired by the aircraft design of the 1970s and embodies a distinctive diamond-shaped exterior. The electric vehicle professional, which was unveiled in March, was evaluated for suggesting the direction of future electric vehicle design in line with the name meaning’prophecy’. The 7th-generation Avante, which boasts unique designs such as the’parametric jewel pattern grille’ that changes color according to the viewing angle, and the high-charger that automatically moves the charging connector according to the location of the vehicle charging port, also received awards.

Infotainment system
For Kia Motors, the 3rd generation K5 and 4th generation Sorento were selected as the winners. It is evaluated that the K5 has a futuristic design, such as a’Tiger Nose’ grill that breaks the boundaries of the headlamps, and a daytime running light graphic reminiscent of a heartbeat. Sorento implemented a sophisticated image that deviated from the typical design of a sports utility vehicle (SUV), such as a 10.25-inch infotainment system (a device that provides information and entertainment in the vehicle) and interior lighting’Crystal Line Mood Lighting’.
Genesis has set a record of awards for the sixth consecutive year as the copper design theme of the G80, GV80, and infotainment system was awarded. In particular, the G80 and GV80 received high praise for their unique design elements reflecting the brand’s identity, such as the’crest grille’ and the double row’quad lamp’.
On this day, Genesis newly launched a dedicated financial program’G-Finance’. Customer benefits have been strengthened by significantly increasing the installment period, which is currently up to 60 months, up to 120 months. It will be available from the 4th of next month.
