The World Health Organization (WHO) urged the international community to work together in preparation for a greater risk than the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19) that swept the world this year.
According to the Washington Post (WP) on the 29th (local time), WHO emergency response team leader Mike Ryan said in the last video briefing of the year the previous day, “The pandemic was very serious enough to affect every corner of the world, but this must be a big thing. “We can’t say (the big one)” he warned.
Team leader Ryan stressed that “this year’s pandemic should be regarded as a’warning bell’, and we must all respond together to prepare for such a threat that will continue in the future.”
Since the first reported corona19 infection in China late last year, the WHO has argued that the international community should jointly prepare for a more deadly pandemic that may occur in the future.
After the outbreak of Corona 19 in China at the end of last year, it led to a pandemic, and vaccination began in about a year.
However, there is growing concern about the novel corona mutant virus, which is rapidly spreading to more than 20 countries, starting from the UK.
Although the mutant virus doesn’t appear to be more lethal or vaccine-resistant, its spreading power is strong, causing an explosive spread in the UK and South Africa.
Experts are warning that the coronavirus will remain with us for quite some time and the next pandemic could happen anytime, the newspaper said.
