According to the imported car industry on the 29th, Ford Korea will launch the New Ranger Wild Track and New Ranger Raptor in the second quarter of next year. Ford Korea is the first officially imported pickup in Korea.
Currently, the Ford F-150, considered to be the’American foot’, is being sold in Korea. It entered the unofficial sales route. The Ranger is a medium-sized pickup that is smaller than the large pickup, the F-150.
The brand that pioneered the domestic import pickup market is Chevrolet. I brought Colorado last year. This summer, the Jeep Gladiator of FCA (Fiat Chrysler Group) landed in Korea.

All of them are from the United States, the home of the’traditional pickup’. The reason why the American Big 3 brands are introducing pickups one after another is because they judge that the domestic pickup market is ripe.
The brand that raised the pickup plate is Ssangyong Motor. After introducing Musso Sports in 2002, it dominated the pickup market with Actyon Sports, Korando Sports, and Rexton Sports (Kahn). Rexton Sports (Kahn) is sold every month. The number of units sold from January to November this year is 3,679 units.
The trend of SUVs (sports utility vehicles), which accelerated from the mid-2010s, also increased the size of the pickup market. The pickup is a truck, but it has an SUV tendencies.
The interior space is ample enough to be used as a family car. Space utilization is better than SUVs as it has a separate loading box. It is also a four-wheel drive that is strong against off-road. Optimized for outdoor activities.
It improved the stiff riding comfort and improved the marketability by adopting advanced safety and convenience specifications. It has a versatile charm enough to be used as an’all-round SUV’.
This is why Ssangyong Motors called the sports series’SUT’ (SUV + truck, Musso Sports),’LUV’ (leisure utility vehicle, Actyon Sports), and’Open Rexton’ (Rexton Sports) instead of the word pickup.

The popularity of’car-baking (staying in the car)’, which is attracting attention due to the Corona 19 incident, also raised the value of pickup. With a loader, the vehicle space is more than a large SUV. It is the’king of the end plate.
Taxes are also cheap. Chevrolet Colorado, Jeep Gladiator, and Ford New Ranger, as well as Rexton Sport, are classified as trucks in Korea.

According to the Imported Automobile Association, 4,515 units of Colorado (38.30 million won) were sold from January to November this year. It increased 634% from the same period last year.
The most expensive Jeep Gladiator (69.90 million won) sold only two units in August, 21 units in September, and 18 units in October. In November, when the volume was put in full swing, 135 units were sold, seven times more than the previous year.

The Ford New Ranger Wild Track, which will be released in Korea next year, is an authentic four-wheel drive pickup. It is equipped with a 2.0ℓ biturbo diesel engine and a’high speed’ 10-speed automatic transmission.
The Ford New Ranger Raptor carries the Ford Performance gene (DNA). It is designed to be driven in rugged off-road environments. The lower body is firm.
