[아이뉴스24 서민지 기자] It is predicted that Apple will record its record-high sales in the fourth quarter thanks to the popularity of the iPhone 12 series.
According to a global monthly smartphone sales report by market research firm Counterpoint Research on the 28th, Apple’s iPhone sales in the fourth quarter are expected to hit the highest level.
The iPhone 12 surpassed the sales of iPhone 11 in all of the first to sixth weeks except in the second week of release. In particular, considering that the iPhone 12 was released four to six weeks later than the previous iPhone 11, sales volume in December is expected to increase even more.
Accordingly, Apple’s 4Q shipments are expected to grow by about 21% year-on-year.
“The iPhone 12 continues to outpace the iPhone 11 sales for the first six weeks after its launch, except for the second week, when the iPhone 11 showed exceptional sales due to high initial demand and sufficient supply,” said Jeff Fieldhack, a counterpoint research researcher “It is particularly noteworthy that the iPhone 12 is showing a higher sales volume than its predecessor despite the short supply of the iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max,” he said.

It is Apple’s first 5G smartphone, and the promotion effect is expected to boost power. Researcher Peter Richardson said, “There was a pent-up demand for the new 5G iPhone and the needs of mobile operators and consumers who have been waiting for new iPhone products.”
“The iPhone SE and iPhone 11 are also being sold continuously,” he added. “It is analyzed that events such as China’s Gwanggun Festival, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday also played a big role.
It is evaluated that Apple has adequately responded to the supply shortage problem that Apple is experiencing with the recent iPhone 12 series. Apple is responding with increased employment, overtime pay, and increased factory operations.
Researcher Peter said, “In the United States, the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max are behind orders, but the delivery period has decreased significantly over the past three weeks,” said Peter. It doesn’t seem to be.”
