[국제]U.S. government contracts for additional vaccines with Pfizer…200 million people inoculated by July

The U.S. government has secured an additional 100 million doses of the drug company Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine and has decided to receive it by the end of July next year.

The United States has the amount of vaccine available to 200 million out of 260 million people in the age range.

Negotiations were being made for additional purchases, but in the end, you signed a contract for 100 million times?

The U.S. Department of Defense released the contract through a press release.

The Trump administration says it will purchase an additional 100 million doses of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine through the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Department of Defense.

“By agreement, Pfizer will provide at least 70 million servings by June 30 next year and 100 million servings by the end of July.”

Pfizer also announced the same, according to AP and Reuters.

The New York Times explained that the Trump administration has already signed a contract to supply 100 million doses of Pfizer vaccine by the first quarter of next year.

Then, the total amount of vaccines secured by the US government, including modders and vaccines, is 400 million doses, right?

The U.S. government has been vaccinating the Pfizer vaccine on the 14th and has been vaccinated with the modder vaccine on the 21st.

As previously mentioned, Pfizer’s vaccines total 200 million doses, including 100 million doses of the existing contract and 100 million doses of the current contract.

In the case of modders and vaccines, we plan to receive delivery of 100 million batches each in the first and second quarters.

Accordingly, the combined volume of both vaccines with emergency approval is 400 million doses.

The vaccine is enough for 200 million people, as one person needs to get it twice.

The Pfizer vaccine can be over 16 years old, and the modder vaccine can be over 18 years old.

Taking this into account, the number of Americans eligible for immunization is about 260 million out of the 340 million.

Of these, 200 million people can be beaten, which means that most of the people can get vaccination by next July.

In the initial negotiations, Pfizer was confused about the reason for the contract with other countries, but in the end, it was because of the support of the US government that they agreed to the negotiations?

Pfizer’s production by next summer has been contracted to countries outside the United States.

For that reason, it is possible to increase the production volume additionally.

The New York Times and the Associated Press reported that the Trump administration has mobilized the Defense Goods Production Act to help Pfizer acquire more nine specialty products for vaccine manufacturing.

In this regard, Reuters reported that the total amount paid by the US government to Pfizer through this additional purchase agreement is 4 billion dollars, and 4 trillion won in our money.
