Two sons of’Basketball President’ take 1st and 2nd place in All-Star fan vote

The two sons of former national team coach Heo Jae of’Basketball President’ occupied the first and second place in the All-Star fan vote.

KBL (Korea Basketball Federation) announced on the 5th that “Hoon Hoon (KT) recorded the most votes with 32,642 votes out of the total number of 7,545 votes as a result of the All-Star fan vote that ended on the 4th.” Heo Hoon, who also ranked first in the All-Star fan vote last year, enjoyed the honor of winning the most votes for the second consecutive year. Heo Hoon, who was the best player in the regular league last season (MVP), is also running at the top with 7.5 assists this season and is ranked third in the average score of domestic players (14.6 points).

Heo Hoon’s older brother, Heo Woong (DB), ranked second with 31,421 votes. Heo Woong also took the top spot in the All-Star Voting for two consecutive years in the 2015-16 season and 2016-17 season. This is the first time that the brothers ranked first and second in a professional basketball All-Star fan vote, launched in 1997.

The third place in the fan vote is Song Gyo-chang (25) from Jeonju KCC, who received 31,217 votes. This was followed by Yang Hong-seok (KT) in fourth place and Kim Si-rae (LG) in fifth place. Lee Dae-heon (Electronic Land) Park Jun-young (KT) Moon Sung-gon (KGC Ginseng Corporation) Izea Hicks (Samsung) Tyler Davis (KCC) was selected as an All-Star for the first time. Caddy Laren (LG), the 10th place fan vote, was dropped because of an injury, and Kim Hyun-soo (Samsung), the 25th place, was included in the list of 24 final All-Stars. By team, KT has the most with 4 people, DB and KCC Electronics Land, KGC Ginseng Corporation, Samsung has 3 people each. Two members were selected for Orion and LG, and Kim Sun-hyung was the only one for SK.

This year’s All-Star Game will not be held due to the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19). KBL plans to prepare and broadcast a program in which All-Star players and fans directly communicate and participate using KBL TV channels from the 14th to 18th, which is the All-Star break.
