Two days ahead, vaccinations that will help you recover your’lost daily life’ due to the new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) in Korea have come two days ahead.

The AstraZeneca (AZ) vaccine, which will be the first Corona 19 vaccine in Korea, goes out of the factory after all preparations and goes through distribution centers and goes to public health centers and nursing hospitals around the country. It is not a mock training, but a’real situation’.

According to the quarantine authorities on the 24th, out of about 750,000 AstraZeneca vaccines consigned by SK Bioscience in Andong, Gyeongsangbuk-do, the first of about 750,000 vaccines (1.5 million doses) will be delivered to the distribution center in Icheon, Gyeonggi, after shipment notification on the morning of that day.

This is the quantity to be met by residents and workers under the age of 65 at nursing hospitals, nursing facilities, and mental care and rehabilitation facilities nationwide.

Vaccines arriving at the distribution center are scheduled to be sequentially shipped to public health centers and nursing hospitals across the country from the 25th, a day later. However, the vaccine is expected to arrive on the 26th in Ulleungdo.

AstraZeneca vaccination starts in earnest from 9 am on the 26th.

To date, about 289,000 people have desired vaccination, including 186,000 people in nursing hospitals, 102,612 people in nursing homes and mental care and rehabilitation facilities. This amounts to 93.6% of all vaccination subjects.

When the amount of vaccine arrives, the movement of nursing hospitals and nursing facilities is expected to accelerate.

In nursing hospitals where doctors are always on duty, the first vaccination must be completed within 5 days after checking the amount of vaccine delivered.

For elderly care facilities and mental care rehabilitation facilities that do not have a resident doctor, the health center visit team or a doctor contracted with the facility visits and inoculates in person according to a fixed schedule.

The AstraZeneca vaccine needs to be given twice, and it is expected to be completed within two quarters.

An official from the Corona 19 Vaccination Response Promotion Team explained that “the vaccine will be supplied before the start date of vaccination.”
