Na Young-ho, head of eBay Korea’s Strategic Planning Division, has been appointed as the new head of Lotte Group’s integrated online mall’Lotteon’.
According to the distribution industry on the 26th, the Lotte Group decided to recruit Na, the head of the e-commerce division of Lotte Shopping in February, and is undergoing the final procedure in February.
Director Na is known to have been a graduate of the Seoul National University Department of Business Administration. He joined Daehong Communications, an advertising affiliate of Lotte Group in 1996, and participated in the founding process of Lotte.com. He joined eBay Korea in 2007 and served as the head of the new business division of Gmarket and the head of the cross-border commerce business division. In particular, he led the commercial credit card (PLCC) and’Smile Card’ along with the simple payment system’Smile Pay’ and Hyundai Card.
Director Na is expected to improve earnings through advancement of simple payments, while saving the points of eBay Korea’s main business undertaken at Lotte On.
There is also an expectation that Lotte will actively participate in the acquisition of eBay Korea as the representative from eBay Korea is welcomed. At the Lotte Shopping shareholders’ meeting on the 23rd, Kang Hee-tae, head of distribution BU and vice chairman of Lotte Shopping, said, “We are proceeding with sufficient interest.”
Lotte Holdings had been operating the e-commerce division of Lotte Shopping as a temporary management system until the new CEO was appointed. An official at Lotte Holdings said, “It is a review stage among several candidates, and it is not final,” and “the procedure is in progress.”
