Such opposition is also spreading to local governments where the ruling party is headed. The Association of Residents’ Representatives in Cheongna New Town recently submitted an opinion to lower the public announcement price to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and decided to receive signatures from residents who oppose the increase in the public announcement price for each complex.

The issue of calculating the disclosure price has emerged as a key issue that will influence the vote. Mayor Park Young-seon and Democratic Party Mayor of Seoul said, “We will strongly suggest to the Democratic Party a plan that the publicly announced price increase rate for apartments with a disclosure price of less than 900 million won will not exceed 10%.” Candidate Se-hoon Oh, the Mayor of Seoul, pledged, “People with no income among the owners of one house in one household should be exempt from property tax.”
