Hyundai Motor Company’s US subsidiary has unveiled the detailed specifications of the Ioniq 5. The North American Ionic 5 Long Range uses a battery with a capacity of 77.4kWh differently from domestic specifications. The domestic specification is 72.6kWh. In addition, an augmented reality head-up display was applied to Ioniq 5. The domestic pre-contract starts on February 25th.
Unlike the domestic specification (72.6kWh), a 77.4kWh battery is applied to the North American Ioniq 5 long range. The mileage of the North American model was not disclosed. However, as the WLTP standard mileage is 480km per full charge, the mileage of the North American model is expected to increase slightly.
The specifications of the standard model with a 58kWh capacity battery were also revealed. The standard rear-wheel electric motor has a maximum output of 164 hp and a maximum torque of 35.7 kgm. It takes 8.5 seconds from standstill to 100 km/h. The maximum output of the standard all-wheel drive is 232 horsepower and the maximum torque is 61.7 kgm. The zero back is 6.1 seconds.
The body size of the IONIC 5 is 4635mm in length, 1890mm in width, 1605mm in height, and 3000mm in wheelbase. The basic capacity of the trunk is 531ℓ. It can be expanded up to 1591ℓ. The front trunk capacity is 57ℓ for 2WD model and 24ℓ for AWD model. The North American model is 24ℓ for both 2WD and AWD.
The augmented reality head-up display was applied to IONIC 5 for the first time by Hyundai. Unlike the existing head-up display, the augmented reality head-up display transmits related information such as a navigation route, driver assistance system, and vehicle surroundings as a stereoscopic image on an actual road in accordance with the driver’s viewing angle.
On the other hand, the domestic pre-contract for IONIQ 5 will proceed with two long-range models. The price is expected to be set at the beginning of 50 million won for exclusive and mid 50 million won for prestige. The driving distance of the domestic long range for one full charge is 410 to 430km based on rear wheel drive (measured by Hyundai Motors by domestic authentication method).
