How much better is the high-end Starria’Lounge’ than the general model?

On the 18th, Hyundai Motor Company unveiled the interior and exterior images of the new MPV’Starria’.

Hyundai Motor Company announced that it plans to operate Staria separately as a standard model and a luxury model’Staria Lounge’. The general model consists of a variety of trims such as tourer (9/11 seater) and cargo (3/5 seater), and Staria Lounge is operated with 7/9 passengers.

Hyundai Motor Company introduced Staria Lounge as “it has a differentiated design with a premium sensibility.” How different is a high-end model from a general model? I looked through the teaser image.

The biggest difference is seen from the front. First of all, the grill design is different. The general model has a four-hole projection type headlamp along with a radiator grille treated the same as the color of the car body. The upper and lower widths of the radiator grille are rather narrow, so a wide empty space under the Hyundai Motors emblem stands out.

Staria Lounge has a wider grille up and down than the general model. The grill pattern consists of a complex pattern twisted like a barbed wire, and an 8-hole LED headlamp is mounted. The radiator grille, the lower part of the bumper, the side mirrors, and the wheels are finished in brass, giving it a luxurious feel.

The difference in lamp design continues from the rear as well. The Staria Lounge has an LED rear combination lamp with a parametric pixel design that has been applied by Hyundai Motor Company to the Ioniq 5, extending up and down. On top of the lamp, the same garnish as the shape of the lamp is applied to give a sense of unity while giving the effect that the lamp looks longer.

On the other hand, the general model is finished with glossy black plastic without a top garnish. The graphic inside the lamp also inherited the pixel design, but it looks like a general bulb type lamp, not LED, is applied. Turn indicators and reversing lights are also provided separately.

One peculiar thing is that, unlike Staria Lounge, the rear camera and rear detection sensor cannot be checked on the regular model. However, as Hyundai Motor Company recently installed a rear sensor on commercial vehicles such as Porter, it remains to be seen whether or not the rear sensor is actually installed on the Staria general model.

I could see the difference indoors as well. First of all, the difference in display size is noticeable. In Staria Lounge, a 10.25-inch display was integrated with the air conditioning conversion control system. However, the general model has an 8-inch display that is smaller than this, and there are also dials for volume and radio tuning on both sides. At the bottom, a small air conditioning display has been added.

Also, there are differences in the dashboard. Staria Lounge has a color LCD cluster that does not have a sunshield, but the instrument panel of the general model is equipped with a sunshield. It can be inferred that an analog instrument panel will be applied to the general model or a display with lower brightness than the high-end model will be applied.

In addition to the high-end models, the button-type electronic transmission (SBW), which is applied throughout Hyundai Motors, is applied, but the general model is equipped with a boot-type gear shift lever, and some interior chrome decorations and ambient lights can also confirm the difference.
