High-intensity measures, extended to New Year’s Eve… All restrictions except for entertainment facilities

Kwon Deok-cheol, the first deputy head of the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters (Minister of Health and Welfare), is announcing measures to extend social distancing steps and detailed adjustments at the Seoul Government Complex on the morning of the 16th. yunhap news

To prevent the re-proliferation of the new coronavirus infection (Corona 19), the government has decided to extend the current “social distance” and ban on private gatherings with more than 5 people nationwide by two more weeks until the end of this month. In fact, the current level of high-intensity quarantine measures will continue until the Lunar New Year holidays.

However, it was decided to significantly loosen the business regulations of self-employed people. Gymnasiums and singing practice areas, which were subject to business bans, are allowed to operate under conditions that limit usage hours and number of people, and cafes will be allowed to eat at the store until 9 pm.

Prohibition of distance and 5-person meetings Extended until 31 days

The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters (Company) announced such a distancing adjustment plan at a regular briefing on the 16th.

The government decided to keep the distance between the 2.5th stage of the metropolitan area and the second stage of the non-metropolitan area, which was scheduled to end on the 17th, and the ban on private gatherings of 5 or more people applied nationwide for another two weeks from the 18th to the 31st.

If the current quarantine measures are eased, it was decided to continue applying the current measures until the trend of patient decline stabilizes, as it is determined that there is a possibility that Corona 19 will re-proliferate.

Accordingly, private gatherings of 5 or more people are prohibited nationwide until the end of this month, and 5 or more people cannot eat together at a restaurant. In addition, due to the distancing measures, weddings, funerals, and commemorative ceremonies in the metropolitan area will continue to be limited to less than 50 people, and less than 100 people in non-metropolitan areas.

In addition, five types of entertainment facilities such as entertainment pub, Danran pub, emotion pub, collage, hunting pot tea, and’Hold’em Pub’ (a pub where you can enjoy card games while drinking alcohol) are also banned until this month.

The government has decided to keep the quarantine regulations in a large framework, but greatly ease the restrictions on the operation of multi-use facilities. This is a measure taken into account due to equity issues and damage to self-employed people.

First of all, cafes, like restaurants, decided to allow in-store eating until 9 pm. Restaurants and cafes in the ski resort will also be operated. It was decided to allow the operation of indoor sports facilities and singing practice centers in the metropolitan area, which had been closed so far, under the condition that the number of people is limited to one per 8㎡. The academy also changed the existing’limit of 9 teachers at the same time’ to ‘1 person per 8㎡’.

Regarding religious activities, some face-to-face activities with low quarantine risk were allowed. For regular worship, Mass, and Beophoe, face-to-face is allowed for up to 10% of seats in the metropolitan area and up to 20% of seats in the non-metropolitan area. However, meetings and meals such as revival meetings, Bible meetings, Bible study meetings, and district worship are prohibited. Prayer centers and training centers, which used to be in the blind spot, are also prohibited from providing accommodation and meals.

The group ban on additional facilities such as restaurants and cafes located in the ski resort is lifted, and operation is possible under quarantine regulations.

New Year’s holiday quarantine measures starting next month… Review paid tolls

As the Lunar New Year holiday (February 11-14) is approaching a month in the future, the government also announced’special quarantine measures’ to minimize visits to hometowns, relatives, travel, and various meetings during the holiday season. The period of special quarantine measures is two weeks from the first of next month.

In order to reduce the risk of re-spreading Corona 19 due to large-scale travel, the government decided to sell railroad tickets only for window seats and to convert tolls on highways.

In addition, the number of people on board of coastal passenger ships will be managed at 50% of the capacity. National and public culture and arts facilities, such as palaces and museums, managed the appropriate number of users through a pre-reservation system, and Bonan facilities had an advance reservation system for a total of five weeks before and after Lunar New Year holidays.
