The number of new coronavirus infections (Corona 19) in Korea recorded 488 as of the 12th.

The Central Defense Response Headquarters announced that as of 0 o’clock on the day, the number of new corona 19 confirmed cases in Korea was counted to 488, an increase of 23 from the previous day (465). There were 467 people in the region and 21 people from overseas. The cumulative number of confirmed cases is 94,686.

There were 789 new cases reported because of suspected adverse reactions after the COVID-19 vaccination. Among them, 785 cases included muscle pain, headache, fever, chills, and nausea, which can be common after vaccination. The remaining four were suspected cases of anaphylaxis.

Meanwhile, on the same day, the government announced that it would extend the current social distancing phase, which ends on the 14th, for another two weeks. Prime Minister Jeong Sye-gyun said at a meeting of the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters this morning that “we will keep banning meetings with more than 5 people as it is.”

Regarding the reason for the extension of the social distancing stage, Prime Minister Chung said, “The number of confirmed patients is stagnant with 300 to 400 people for 8 consecutive weeks.” He explained.
