[코로나19 발생현황] 488 new confirmations… 400 units for four consecutive days

The number of new coronavirus infections (Corona 19) in Korea recorded 488 as of the 12th.

The Central Defense Response Headquarters announced that as of 0 o’clock on the day, the number of new corona 19 confirmed cases in Korea was counted to 488, an increase of 23 from the previous day (465). There were 467 people in the region and 21 people from overseas. The cumulative number of confirmed cases is 94,686.

In the last week, the number of new confirmed cases has been recorded daily from 418 → 416 → 346 → 446 → 470 → 465 → 488. Looking at the trend of confirmed cases over the past two months, the number of confirmed cases remains in the 300-400 range, but the overall trend is gradually increasing.

The death toll increased by 10. The cumulative number of deaths up to this day was 1662. The number of new quarantine releases was 1068, with a total of 8,5743 quarantined, and 7281 are currently being quarantined. There are 127 patients with severe gastric disorders.

As of 0 o’clock that day, 42,527 people were newly vaccinated with the Corona 19 vaccine. The cumulative number of vaccinations is 54,6277. By vaccine, there were 52,6414 AstraZeneca vaccines and 11,986 Pfizer vaccines.

There were 789 new cases reported because of suspected adverse reactions after the COVID-19 vaccination. Among them, 785 cases included muscle pain, headache, fever, chills, and nausea, which can be common after vaccination. The remaining four were suspected cases of anaphylaxis.

Meanwhile, on the same day, the government announced that it would extend the current social distancing phase, which ends on the 14th, for another two weeks. Prime Minister Jeong Sye-gyun said at a meeting of the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters this morning that “we will keep banning meetings with more than 5 people as it is.”

Regarding the reason for the extension of the social distancing stage, Prime Minister Chung said, “The number of confirmed patients is stagnant with 300 to 400 people for 8 consecutive weeks.” He explained.
